Getting Started
Congratulations! Now that you have your new DELTA camera, continue reading to learn what you will need to get started, or watch our short video at the end of the article!
1. Coverage
You should mount your camera in an area with good AT&T or Verizon cellular coverage, depending on which carrier your camera is associated with. Don’t worry – it doesn’t matter who your personal cellphone provider is. To check AT&T or Verizon coverage in your area, click here.
Please be aware that some roaming agreements allow carriers to use towers they don’t own to provide coverage in rural areas. In these cases, connected devices – like cellular trail cameras – are not covered. This is why your phone may have a good signal in some rural areas, but your cellular camera may not.
2. Signal
While having good coverage is important, you’ve got to have a strong signal, too. Keep your camera clear of dense shrubs and trees, low-lying areas, and other natural obstructions that can block a signal to your modem.

3. SD Card
Be sure to always use a recommended SD card for your camera.

4. Activate Camera & Select a Plan
Log in to your FieldNode account through the App or Website.
- Navigate to the web subscription management experience via the “Manage Account” button in the account menu.
- Select “Manage Subscriptions”.
- Select "Activate Device".
- Follow through the activation flow.

5. Install Batteries, SD Card and Antenna
Once your camera is activated, install the recommended batteries and SD card and then attach the antenna firmly. For more information on recommended batteries click here. For more information on recommended SD cards click here.
6. Power Camera On
Switch camera ON, then the LED lights will illuminate (about 3 seconds). There will be a 15 second delay to allow time to format the SD Card (see next step). Then, your camera will connect to FieldNode and the LED lights will indicate the camera's status. Once the light cycle is complete, the camera will indicate the it's current status. If you see any yellow or red lights, use the chart below to identify the status.

7. Format SD Card
This will permanently erase all pictures on the SD Card. During the 10 second delay after powering your camera on, press and hold the Format SD card button until the SD card LED light blinks yellow, then release. The SD Card light will turn green once the process is complete.
8. Capture A Test Picture
Press and hold the Connect/Status button for at least 5 seconds The Status LED light will remain lit while the picture is being transmitted. Refresh your app or website to ensure your picture was uploaded.
