Troubleshooting

Is your feeder clogging up?  Please see the information we have below on why that is happening and how to correct it.

Our Feeders are designed to use ¼” Whole Kernel Corn:

  • Anything drastically bigger or smaller can potentially cause material run-out, the feeder to clog or material to bridge inside the hopper.
  • If a powder like rice bran is used in a humid environment without mixing with a larger granule size, it can cake significantly and bridge over the hopper exit.
  • Some differing granule sizes can get jammed under the spin plate and cause the spin plate not to move.
  • Uncleaned Corn with severe amounts of powder or dust can eventually lead to material buildup on surfaces and cause the feeder to jam.

  • Molded Corn in Metal Barrels:
  • Corn will sit at the bottom of the metal barrel edges and can potentially mold.
  • To prevent this from happening you can invest in a 30 Gallon or 55 Gallon internal funnel. This is only for barrels.

  • Potential Causes of Moisture in Barrel/Hopper:
  • Lid not pressed down firmly.
  • Lid not twisted all the way down.
  • Hopper top and hopper bottom not pressed together firmly.
