Getting Started

Congratulations! Now that you have your Pro Hunter III feeder kit (broadcast or directional version), continue reading to learn how to get it up and running!

INSTALLATION

  1. ASSEMBLE QUICK LOCK ADAPTER
    1. Note: Quick lock adapter is only needed for custom setups and hanging feeders. Assemble the Quick-Lock Adapter by snapping the bolt tabs into place as shown.
    2. If installing on a MOULTRIE hanging feeder, skip to step 3. 
  2. DRILL HOLES INTO BUCKET / BARREL
    1. Use the adapter as a template to mark and drill mounting holes with a 5/16" drill bit.
  3. INSTALL THE QUICK-LOCK ADAPTER
    1. Mount the Quick-Lock Adapter using three 1/4" x 1" bolts, nuts, and washers in the drilled holes.
  4. INSTALL THE FEEDER KIT ON HOPPER
    1. Align the L-Slots of the feeder kit with the barrel pegs.
    2. Push and twist the feeder kit to lock it into position.
  5. (OPTIONAL) INSTALL SOLAR PANEL
    1. If using a solar panel, route the cable through the feeder kit before proceeding.
    2. We recommend using the 6V FEEDER SOLAR PANEL with your PRO HUNTER III.
    3. Refer to the solar panel instructions for additional tips.
  6. INSTALL THE 6V BATTERY
    1. Release the latch to access the timer.
    2. Insert the 6V battery into the battery compartment.
  7. CONNECT TIMER TO POWER
    1. Attach the timer terminals to the 6V battery, matching polarity (+/-).
    2. Check battery level in the top-right corner of the display.
  8. PROGRAM THE TIMER
    1. Program the timer using the interface or the FieldNode App.
    2. Set the timer clock to match your feeder’s local time.
    3. Program up to 10 feed times per day (7 days per week).
    4. Set the feed run-time for each feed time (1-60 seconds).
  9. RUN A TEST
    1. Press the TEST button.
    2. A 10-second countdown will begin. After 10 seconds, spin plate will activate. Note: The 10 second countdown will not start unless the battery tray is fully installed in the feeder kit.
    3. Close the feeder kit door and latch securely.
