Troubleshooting

The Dual Solar Battery Box provides external power for compatible trail cameras using a solar-assisted rechargeable battery system. If your device is not receiving power or you are unable to validate a connection, follow the steps below based on the issue you're experiencing.

 

Issue: Power Validation

  1. Check the Battery LED Indicator:
    • Blinking red = charging in progress
    • Solid red = fully charged
  2. Check Cable and Battery Connections:
    • Ensure the power cable is securely inserted into the device.
    • Verify the positive (+) and negative (−) wires are tightly connected to the battery inside the box.
  3. Test Device with Batteries:
    • Disconnect the Dual Solar Battery Box from the device.
    • Insert new Energizer or FieldNode batteries into the device and attempt to power it on.
    • If the device does not turn on, the issue may be with the device.
    • If the device does turn on, the issue may be with the Battery Box — continue troubleshooting.
  4. Charge and Reconnect:
    • Charge the Dual Solar Battery Box fully using a different wall outlet.
    • Once fully charged, reconnect to the device and test again.

 

Issue: No Power

  1. Charge Fully Using a Different Outlet:
    • Plug the Battery Box into a different outlet than you normally use.
    • Charge until the indicator shows it is fully charged (solid red LED).
  2. Check Wire Connections:
    • Ensure the positive and negative wires are properly attached to the internal battery.
  3. Reconnect to Camera:
    • Connect the Battery Box back to your camera securely.
  4. Sunlight Check:
    • Ensure the panel is placed in with no obstructions.
